A sporting comfortable sail boat

From his youth Adriaan van Vollenhoven has been a keen sailor. He was looking for an affordable boat that combined sports sailing with the comfort of a small cabin-cruiser. When he could not find such a boat, he developed one with Jac de Ridder. Thus was born a new concept, the: Tirion ' One design '. Both the Dutch and the international press published good reports about the concept and Van Vollenhoven’s design became a winner.
Sailing for beginners and the more experienced

The basic principles of sailing can be learned very easily in the Tirion. For the beginner, the Tirion is outstandingly suitable because of its good stability and sea-keeping. More experienced sailors will appreciate her manoeuvrability and speed.
Sporting sailing with comfort

The sailing properties of the Tirion are unique for this type of boat. She has a smooth hull and can exceed her theoretical maximum speed in wind Force 4 when on the plane. With the relatively large mainsail and spinnaker, the Tirion can perform. Furthermore, an advantage compared with other day-cruisers is that the helmsman sits near the water and can experience all the thrill of sailing.

Families

For families with children the Tirion is an ideal day-cruiser.The cockpit offers plenty of space and the good freeboard provides a secure feel. The cozy cabin is great for kids to play or sit in.

Berths

The wide cockpit offers seating for up to 6 adults and the cabin has two fixed bunks. With the optional tent, she can sleep up to four.

Keelboat

The Tirion has a fixed keel that makes her an extremely stable and safe boat. For this reason the Tirion has been much adopted for beginners and families with children. The small fully laden draft of 0.90 metres makes the Tirion an ideal keel boat for inland waterways.
